We are an outdoor program and as such, believe in a nature-based setting and atmosphere. We have invested over $40k in wood play equipment from a wonderful company called Community Play Things. Their pieces are specifically designed to encourage play, socialization and fine/gross motor skills. The pieces fit into an outdoor setting vs. plastic products that do not blend with the nature focus of our program. We have invested in every outdoor piece as well as many wood items like our scooters and ride on trucks from this company.
For more information on these beautiful timeless pieces please visit their website below.
This piece is designed to encourage water exploration in a river format. Sometimes we set the table up with rocks and plants, other times we place an ocean theme with sea shells my children collect at the beach. Children can fill the different compartments with water and watch it rush down the river.
These are amazing pieces. Kids can move them into different positions to climb on or flip them upside down to sit inside. Using these along with the balance beams creates a great obstacle course but also works
on gross motor skills to balance through each piece.
These blocks are like Legos but made of wood. Unlike many block sets, these are so durable and made for all weather including water which is important during our water table play season. They are a natural part of our outdoor classroom and a perfect way to engage children in constructive play. I have seen the kids build buses, airplane
These blocks are like Legos but made of wood. Unlike many block sets, these are so durable and made for all weather including water which is important during our water table play season. They are a natural part of our outdoor classroom and a perfect way to engage children in constructive play. I have seen the kids build buses, airplanes, rockets, motorcycles, and a stage for acting/singing. The amount of creative play is endless.
Each piece is displayed so the children can talk about their art, and show pride in their work and respect for their piece and their classmates' work as well.
We support the creative process by having themes and a prompt to begin the art process. We talk about the elements of art in project so children have an understanding of the building blocks of creation.
Art is a huge part of our program. We focus on the act of making, experimenting, and discovering.
OSITO: He is an English Labrador who comes from a line of service and therapy dogs. He has natural traits as a therapy dog being very sweet and tolerant. As part of his training, he provides pressure therapy by giving a paw, a lean or a lay on your lap. He is the sweetest dog always looking to please anyone he meets.

These are our self-portrait mobiles. We randomly cut various shapes of cardboard and the children picked each piece to represent their face. They decorated and painted each tiny piece, told us how they wanted them to hang and the teachers helped tie them to a wood dowel. If you look closely, you will see the intricate detail and how everyone is very different.
We installed a 10' wide stainless steel board to mount our art projects and murals on. We rotate our murals every few months creating various pieces that coordinate together for the children to view.
Our latest piece is a puzzle. Each child is given a puzzle-shaped piece to decorate and paint as they wish. We also discuss what a mural is by pointing out various pieces in our own neighborhood and reading books on being a Muralist.
